      <description>&lt;p&gt;The LSO requires a Concerts Intern to support its team of eight office-based staff and six backstage staff. The LSO currently plays and promotes about 60 concerts per year in its Barbican Centre home, as well as over 50 concerts per year on tour in more than 20 countries as well as many recording and film projects.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The Concerts Department is in the front line organising all these core activities, from initial planning through to being present on the day and making sure all goes perfectly. This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody wanting to work in events in the arts or voluntary sectors.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The intern will gain first hand experience and training in the organisation of orchestral tours, as well as an introduction to the planning of UK concerts and recording sessions.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;NB this is a voluntary position; the LSO will pay reasonable travel expenses and a lunch allowance.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
